Just ONE Of The Member's Sirin Encouraged To Put Herself In Danger......

I stumbled upon a thread the other day while doing a search for something (top secret!) and came acroos this post from one of Sirin's members. This member was a prolific poster on Sirin's old site, and was given huge encouragement to appeal against her future husband's visa refusal. They were eventually granted a visa, and this member received whoops of delight from all the managers and members - especially Sirin.

Here's just a snippet of the member's post detailing what her first date with this Turk was like:

"My boyfriend was the same, from the very first date he would raise his hand to me and threatend to slap me ,it took a few weeks of stern warnings to him that if he ever hit me he would never come to my house again and gradually the threats ceased."

Meanwhile, what NORMAL, NICE woman would encourage a woman to continue a relationship with someone like that?!

I don't know who it was, but whoever it was must have been barking mad to have had a second date with a guy like that.

And no normal or nice woman would encourage a relationship that would start like that and now that man is here?

Men that have a violent streak could become totally manic once here not only due to the relationship having problems but the bigger picture is in a mans mind that was here on a visa and possibly threatened by a woman saying she will get it revoked it could very well be a possible risk to the womans safety as everything he has ever planned for his future could be destroyed by the woman and he most likely doesn't give a damm about the relationship anyway and is just here for finacial reasons.

Women should be very wary on embarking on relationships where visas are required and instead of feeling they have power in the relationship due to keeping unstable men here on tight leashes by threatening them with calling the visa people if he doesn't behave himself, they should realize the potential threat to themself that the once sweet nice man could act like a caged animal once threatened even if he had no prior violent traits before hand.

Sirin should give out warnings to that effect to her members but we know advice like that would never be forthcoming

He has a great sense of humor but when i came back with an answer to something in a sarcastic way this is when the raised hand came up although he did know i was joking with him.

He did realise that i would not tolerate this behaviour from him and now it's said as a joke. i threaten to slap him if he's being rude and he threatens me if im cheeky.

Saying all this he really is a kind and gentle man and absolutely respects me as i do him but we do struggle from time to time over culteral differences .

He comes from a small village in the centre of Turkey where western ways have not reached his village where our weird western ways have reached the touristy areas and the locals have seen behaviour which is not common to them.

I think it is their upbringing to keep their women into check as several Turkish couples i know all have the same traits. The English women are told they will get a slap or need a slap if they dont behave or do as they are told but said in a joke and they are told to shut up and we all laugh BUT the Turkish girls dont get this because ive noticed when their husbands tell them to do something they do it immediately without question where us westerners will tell them to do it themselves lol. Its just a diference in cultural upbringing and once they adjust to our indipendant ways most do adjust but saying this i do feel for women who have over zealous partners/husbands who struggle with this leaving the women to live in an abusive relationship .

Turkish men are very jealous and possessive and we have to understand this if we want a Turk in our lives .One friend winds her partner up and then she wonders why he's always having a go at her and tells her she is not good and needs a slap, whilst i give my partner no reason at all to be jealous and he totally trusts me and there are never bad words because i respect that they are this way inclined.He told me its good to be jealous because it means they care .

We all have to give and take in multi culteral relationships and if this is borne in mind things should, work out.

I dont believe in some of his beliefs and traditions and he certainly doesn't believe in some of mine, something as small as going out for the night with friends as Turkish women as a rule dont do this.

As long as he trusts me and he does ,then he has had to accept that sometimes when he is working i do like to go out for an evening.

I remember a trio of women from near to where the cider apples grow who used to meet up on a regular basis.

Mrs B who met hubby in Marm in Neighbours Restaurant on the Marina was one of the trio.

Ole crusty knickers was one of the others and the original poster was a sandwich short of a picnic not just for putting up with the Turds appalling behaviour, but he was deported from the UK and picnic hamper went over to Turkey, married him, Visa declined, appealed and was sucessful. The turkey is now residing in the UK, job done.

Ahhh, thanks Hobnob. I now know who Strawbs is referring to but still have no idea whatsoever who the ones Ruby is on about are. This is more taxing than The Times crossword!

I remember Annie writing to Jackie when her musty husband won the appeal, and he was flying over the next day, Annie said:

I recall Naomi was crapping herself about telling her father that she was with a Turk (prior to her marriage) as she was going to inherit a piece of land, in fact, I am sure she wanted to include this little investment in his visa application in order to prove to the ECO that she was financially secure.

Yes I remember JackieUK and Annie. Wasn't Annie the extremely foul-mouthed one? I seem to remember they were both witnesses at the ill-fated wedding of Juniper and her completely unhinged Turk. I wonder how they're all getting on these days?

I can faintly recall someone who used to use the screen name NaomiBeli on the old EGOTM site but nothing at all about her story. I don't think she was around for long.

Oh Annie was disgusting! She was like a fishwife, and came out with the most foulest expressions you could imagine!

She detested me (after I wrote about her 'crusty knicker' remark) and never forgave me. She used to go onto one of the fringe Turkish sites lol and eff and blind about me, and call me evry name under the sun - and it never occured to her that she was merely reinforcing what I'd said about her - she was a foul-mouthed fishwife. Oh, almost forgot - I was jealous of them all, too!lol

She was the 'hard nut' of the trio, and she wanted to 'take me on' because I'd said how cheap and disgusting she was - and also told them they were being used by musty illegal immigrants who married them for visas. She'll realise that now!

There was also a man on this particular site called Paul, who'd worked in Marmaris illegally - and saw himself as the next JK Rowling (everyone who goes to Turkey seems to think everyone's going to find their story FASCINATING!) anyway, his grammar was APPALLING - but he insisted his autobiography (lol) was due out in March 2009 (I think it was '09) and when I told him he was telling big fat porkies, he became MOST annoyed with me. He thought his book was going to make him millions (maybe a film, too - cos his story was so RIVETING about working in Marmaris as a DJ! )

Besides his copious spelling mistakes, dyslexia and atrocious grammar - his story was sooooooooooo boring! It din't have a start, middle or ending. But he insisted it was going to be released in the March and he'd be famous - but I still haven't seen it! Funny that, isn't it? Oh, Annie told him I was 'just jealous' and his book would make him famous...-

That Jupiter - I remember her. Wasn't she the one who was forced to take on her visa-husband's grown-up children and support them, too? She was completely browbeaten by him and I think she had a door mat with the word JUNIPER on it - just so he could wipe his feet on her every day.
