Askim is a turkish word for my love....my love....askim....a lot of women say my askim LOL...my my love.....

THD is absolutely right, it is a term of endearment which love rats (along with the genuine guys) tend to use in the early days of a romance.
Like men all over the world using the term 'darling' or 'sweetheart', some mean it some use it as a tool to entice and rip off vulnerable women.

Hi Jenny,
As the others have said, the word 'askim' means 'my love'. So when a woman talks about 'my askim' it sounds very silly, and shows how they don't really know the true translation of the word.
I can't speak for all Turkish men, but Ertie never calls me askim, and I don't recall him ever doing so. Maybe he realised I wouldn't have understood what askim meant at the time? Having said that, I did notice the other day when I was using his phone, that he has my mobile number under the name My Love, so maybe he's even thinking in English now!
He never calls me My Love or Askim, though. He calls me by my petname...except for when he's upset with me!

Askim sounds fake to me as well it sounds false
they call everyone askim so they dont trip up!

I think it depends on if you like it or not.i dont really like it and we have better words for each other

I don't call Ertie 'Ertie' when we have a row
But usually he always calls me by my petname, and it's kind of stuck.
The other day I felt very put out when I was sitting on the bed putting some mascara on, while he was laying next to me. He suddenly said "you're not really beautiful"Now I know all Turkish men call every woman beautiful - so you don't expect your partner of almost 8 years to tell you you're not really beautiful!
So he was totally forgiven - even if he does wear beer-goggles!
