Hello Ladies,
Sorry I have taken a while to introduce myself. I have read many of the posts and I am looking forward to joining in the discussions. I like the honesty of the people on this site. I'm a say it as I see it person myself. I live in Scotland and have been with my turkish boyfriend for 3 years. We met in Istanbul he is in the Turkish Navy. We are getting engaged in November and hopefully married next year just before he retires from the Navy. I'm going to Turkey on Friday for 11 days I cant wait.... we haven't had the Indian summer you have all had down south I had to put my heating for a few hours tonight! Looking forward to geting to know you all.

Sorry to hear you've had to put your heating on tonight - brrrrr. Never mind, I'm sure your Navy guy is used to the cold and wind!

You'll get some great tips from the guys on TC most of them know very well how to cope under extreme conditions. And better than that, they're able to to look reasonably normal the more disturbingly weird they become!

The guy who runs it, Ken, tromps around around Turkey for weeks' at a time taking pictures of stones. Now, he will be the one to ask about heating and bad weather. He's also a specialist in 'how to wear the same underpants and socks for 7 days without getting slung off a dolmus'. I think thete's a knack to it - you wear them for one day - then turn then inside out - and keep doing that until they they will no longer fold. Something like that, anyway. Go ask him - he's a font of information and he's got over 1000 pictures of stones - which you'll find fascinating!

Wonder if he has got a few of those rocks stuffed down his pants to enhance his nether region, at least it gives his rolled up socks a breather
