    Virtual Jukebox Empty Virtual Jukebox

    Post  electra_diva Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:39 pm

I'm resurrecting Judith's virtual jukebox thread because I love music and I'm always interested in what types of music people like. I like lots of music but I'm quite out of date with the charts. I used to work in a radio station and at that time I was always up to date but these days I tend to listen to older stuff.

I have a program on my computer called Spotify - does anyone else use it? I like it because you can search for music and make a playlist, queue the music up and then listen to them all. If you have the free service, which I do, then you just have to put up with adverts (like on the radio) every second or third song but it isn't that irritating.

I have been listening to songs all morning - for some reason I always favour break up songs (perhaps it's an omen lol). Here are some of the ones I have been listening (and out of tune singing to) this morning....

Song 1 - Pink, Who Knew (I love this girl - I think most of her songs are fab)

Song 2 - Neyo, So Sick

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxszlJppRQI

Song 3 - Katy Perry, Firework

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGJuMBdaqIw

Song 4 - Madonna, Like a prayer (as I child/young teen I was a big madonna fan - I think I had most of her early albums)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA983t3Rdzs

Song 5 - Kool & The Gang, Cherish

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s09LuDYX12g

Song 6 - Bread, Make It With You

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5ogj9MSzNE

    Hope you enjoy them!

    Hi Electra,

Oh, I've got Spotify on my computer, too! I'll have to have a browse around and post some of my favourite songs up, too! I love you

Once I've got this site off the ground, maybe you could be our resident DJ? geek You could do a weekly spot and play requests? I'll get my computer man to download the software for it - we can rock 'n' roll then! bounce

    Later...........

Funnily enough I used to do that on a friend's forum some time back. I have the appropriate equipment for DJ'ing and so if you do that, I'd happily do that one night (with requests).

When I worked on the radio I had to talk on there a few times and for some reason I would always dry up and feel embarrassed but when I DJ'd on the forum I was normally okay because there was a chat room and it was interactive. I did embarrass myself a few times though because I would sometimes sit there with a bottle of wine and before I knew it I had almost drunk the bottle, was rather merry and slurring atroctiously ha ha. We always had a good laugh though. I'm really interested in what music people like and I think that's because I'm a music lover myself and I listen to lots of different types of music.

    Hi Electra,

Oh I think this is a great idea! Once everything is up and running properly, we'll do that if you don't mind? I love you

And I don't mind if you have a few glasses of wine - just as long as you don't WHINE and moan! I hate whiners! What a Face

You've reminded me of a song I heard many moons ago.......which, at the time, meant nothing to me - I just liked the tune. It came on the radio as I was driving along, and I remember thinking to myself how I might buy that song, even though I'm not a huge fan of country music - just something about it struck a chord with me (pardon the pun!) and not long after that, it became very apt..
