TL might liven up a bit soon Ruby. I notice that one of the ex army map colouring numpty brigade who has a Turkish askim has started a thread asking where the Kurdish come from because as far as she is aware there is no such place as Kurdistan.

So that might just liven the place up for a day or two. We all know how indignant some of these women can become when this subject is recycled, yet again. They feel duty bound to regurgitate everything their Kurdish askims have fed them.

I'm sure some will have to pause the "The Life of Mohammed" that they've Sky+d in order to post.

Kurdish people have their own language and usually populate the Black Sea areas, although they do also speak Turkish.

Ataturk proclaimed that Turkey belongs to the Turks and that Kurds have no right to invade Turkey. This is why Turkish people carry their predijuces towards the Kurds.

Turkey's population is approximately 70 million, of which, 15 million are Kurds (it appears 10 million Kurds inhabit Marmaris during the season ).

I am not bothered one jot about the Turk/Kurd debate, but these numpties seem to get into meaningless conversations due to boredom of waiting around for months on end for askim to make enough money to purchase convertibles and other luxuries that can only be contemplated by the outright winner of the Yeni Yillar Lotto

Ah this topic brings out the TL uneducated intellectuals about twice a year

Yes, it has been very quiet of late, but now they've been roused by not one, but two heavyweight topics (Mohammed - plus the Turk -v- Kurd debates) they'll all start kicking off informing everyone exactly who Mohammed was (after Googling him) and also the differences between being a Turk and Kurd; all this after having been to Marmaris Bar Street (twice) with a non-English speaking askim, and rounding their fishbowls off with an 'Adana Kebap' and a plate of chillis.

Of course, if their askim is Turkish they'll say how beastly and insane the Kurds are, and vice versa. Funny that isn't it? These heavyweight debates between the numpties always prise the fanatics out of their self-inflicted comas - brought on by trying to read the Koran and falling asleep by page 2. What they should do is arrange a Question Time style debate by setting up a conference meet on Skype. Just like those lunatics and extremists who like to preach to other maniacs over the Internet, the numpties could arrange a time and date for an upgraded Skype conference in which they could all take part - and with all the many interactive features to enhance the level of swivel-eyed participation - the debate could go on for hours!
