Yet another nutter....

This man in Essex has allegedly killed his girlfriend AND their baby. It makes me sick to think that anyone could kill a person but to kill their own child? That is the lowest of the low in my opinion - I will never understand that. NOTHING is achieved, just heartache for those that have been left.

What is worse is that they are now saying that the police have known about this for some time and even that this man might have been an informant and that is why nothing was done. That scares the living daylights out of me. It's bad enough that these type of people exist but the fact that you might not be able to get help even if that is the case, is really scary!

Almost every week there is another nutter like this around...it really makes me fearful for the lives of my children. I wonder what might prevent these sorts of actions but I honestly don't know. What are your views?

I'm a bit late in replying to this!

I think if a man feels like he's going berserk, there's not much can be done to stop him exploding. Don't forget, some of these men who go on a shooting spree murdering their family or mere strangers, often seem quite normal. The one who went nuts last year up in Cumbria (the taxi driver) although he was showing signs of stress before he went berserk, people said he seemed pretty much his normal self before he went on the rampage. I'm not sure if these are typical psychopaths, or if they suddenly have a kind of brainstorm and just go mad. But thankfully, these incidents are extremely rare.

As far as the police are concerned, I think many of them are inept and plain stupid. Years ago you had to be of a certain standard to get into the police, but now they take any old thicko - some of whom have got criminal records! It's appalling. The police force in this country has really dumbed down in the last 20 years, and many of them, besides being thick are often hooligans who enjoy giving a good kicking, and believe they can get away with it because they wear a uniform. Those who aren't dead thick, or just enjoy wearing a Mr Plod outfit, are often totally disinterested in their job and are completely and utterly clueless.

Back to this particular case - I'm astonished that the police allowed this man to remain free if they thought he may murder his wife and child! At the same time - it wouldn't surprise me one bit. It's all very strange, but hopefully the truth will come out in the inquest. It's just a tragedy that nothing's going to bring back his wife and child. It's all too late isn't it?! If part of it is down to the incompetence of the police, they should be imprisoned for a long, long time.

I know what you mean about the normality aspect, the police's lives would be a lot easier if everybody had signs on their forehead "rapist", "murderer" etc )))

I just really feel for that little baby who has been killed by a man that she probably trusted and felt safe and secure with. It brings a tear to my eye when I think about that and then look at my children and how much they love my husband.
