Wonderful news to start the week!

Early this morning, and two days earlier than expected, I became a great auntie for the first time!!

My nephew's lovely wife gave birth to a precious little boy weighing 8lb 4oz. He must have decided to come early because he wanted to be born on his Dad's birthday, my nephew says he looks just like him and is the best birthday present ever!

I'm off to vist them with the family later and have my first cuddle with the baby. It seems ages since we've had a baby in the family and I can't wait, I love newborns and they're even better when you can hand them back!

Oh how wonderful, Judith - a Spring baby! And how thrilled your nephew must have been for his baby son to be born on his birthday - SO special! I bet he's giddy with pride and excitement - as well as his wife of course - plus all of your family! I adore newborn babies - they smell so wonderful and are just sooo sweet! You've got some lovely cuddles to look forward to.......

Oh Judith that is such a lovely way to start your week. Have you had a cuddle yet?, oh I love new born babies they are so perfect and they have their own special smell about them. Many congratulations to you and your family. 8lb 4oz is a very good weight too, do the proud parents have any names yet? Also did they know they were having a boy or was it a surprise.

Absolutely agree with you on the 'handing back' statement, I love my grandchildren, but its great to do a hand over after a day out with them Judith you have a good few years to go yet before you become a grandmother, but I can assure you its one of the best feelings in the world. Also I enjoyed my children when they were still at home, now they have all flown the nest another chapter begins, but being a parent is the most rewarding career in the world in my opinion.
