Yes, Happy (belated) Mothers Day to all! I hope you all had a lovely day.

I had some absolutely beautiful flowers that smell divine, some of my favourite chocolates and was treated to a delicious lunch out with my mum, sister and all the family too. I haven't lifted a finger all day either - what could be better?!

    Hi Judith,

    That sounds perfect, too!

My daughter, darling grandchildren and SIL all arrived much earlier than expected - which was lovely. They arrived all holding bouquests of Spring flowers - it was a lovely moment! sunny We then sat around drinking coffee for a bit and then after I'd got ready we all went off for lunch at a local restaurant. Of course, it was my daughter's Mothers Day too - so were both spoilt Smile One of the nicest meals I've had too!

I always smile to myself on Mothers Day because everywhere you go you see people walking along carrying bouquets! I love you

All of my adult children and grandchildren came to visit me, I received some lovely flowers and cards.

I specifically requested that we kept Mothers Day low key this year, as my wonderful daughter in law's brother was killed in a very tragic accident last June and as we are a very close family, her mother is still in great shock and it made me realise, as a mother, that material items do not matter, as the best present this mother would only ever want would be to hold her son in her arms. A very sobering thought, and only a 'normal' mother would understand that strength of maternal feelings which go with the title of 'mother'. As I was once told, children make your arms ache when they are little and your heart ache when they grow up.
