Christmas and New Year has the highest rate for domestic abuse, suicide and people vanishing.
I feel very sorry for people who live in this sort of environment, treading around on egg shells in fear of the dominator. Christmas brings with it so many pressures on vulnerable families and in reality the commercialism of Christmas as portrayed on the TV makes it extremely difficult for families to live up the the 'image' of the perfect family pulling crackers over a dinner table laden with Christmas food and drink.
Whatever happened to the traditional values of Christmas?
Personally, I love taking my grandchildren to the Christingle Service at Church, then singing Carols around the crib. Then on Christmas morning watching my grandchildren ripping open their presents with the Christmas tree lights twinkling and the smell of the turkey cooking in the oven. Family popping in over the festive season and just catching up with friends who are normally rushing around working.
As for arguments, I think all families/friends have disagreements, I had one myself over the weekend with one of my son's but its now all sorted. Everyone argues sometimes, its healthy, but when it gets heated then it can turn from healthy to dangerous and unsavoury.
I wish all members a peaceful and very happy Christmas.
