Apparently, studies have shown that noting down three things each day that made you happy/grateful is instrumental in increasing how good we feel psychologically and socially.
So..., why don't we try sharing three good things that happened to us each day whenever we feel like doing it - things that went well for us, that we enjoyed, made us feel happy or that we were grateful for. These can be small (e.g. something delicious that we've eaten that day, a good laugh we've had, seeing something that made us smile to ourselves or feel good) or something of greater importance.
I'll start off:
Today:
1. We finally received the letters to say that both my son and my niece have been accepted for a gifted and talented summer camp that they applied to go on several weeks ago.
2. Went for a fantastic long healthy country walk with my mum, sister, our kids and dog had a brilliant laugh and a chat and saw a whole wood full of lovely bluebells - absolutely breathtaking.
3. Spurs got knocked out of the Champions League.

1) My cousin and I took all the children to my local park and my daughter went on her first swing, see-saw and slide and absolutely loved them.
2) My mum came round and had bought my children some lovely new outfits as Easter presents (which will come in very handy when I take them away for a few days at the weekend - nowhere extravagant, just a caravan an hour away from my home - but still a break neverthless)
3) I am finally up-to-date with all my washing and ironing (despite my tumble dryer breaking this week!)

Oooh, Judith, this is a nice thread! I must say, your country walk with family and seeing a bluebell wood sounds lovely!
OK, here's my three things :
1. I parked in a Pay & Display down a High Road, and just as I finished parking a man came along and gave me his ticket that had an hour's parking left on it. I love people like that!
2. I found an earring in the back of a drawer that I lost over 6 months ago!
3. I spent two hours on the phone reminiscing with a friend I lost contact with years ago - and it felt just like yesterday!

Hello Ladies
What a marvellous thread.
I shall tell you the three things that made me happy yesterday, the main three things at any rate.
1) I received a lovely thank you card from a very dear friend of mine who came to stay with me for the weekend and she enclosed a voucher for Marks and Spencers which I thought was extremely charming. I was delighted. I know she enjoyed herself tremendously and that made me feel very happy indeed.
2) I received a phone call from my local art shop to say my water colour has been framed and is ready for collection. I have waited such a long time, they had a problem with materials and so it took longer than I thought it would but it's ready now and I'm going to collect it after work this evening. It's a stunning view of the sea in Antalya and I can't wait to see it now it's been framed.
3) I finally finished off transferring all my music from my cassette tapes onto CD disks and I also have them now on my computer and will be buying an ipod for my holiday. Technology today is marvellous.

Three things that made me happy yesterday.
1. Washed my hair and used a new conditioner by John Frieda; it came out soft and shining like silk. Highly recommend it!
2. Noticed some bluebells at the front of my garden. Spring hs sprung!
3. Had a really tasty spatchcock chicken from M&S - very flavoursome - and could really taste the flavours. It was wonderful.

1. Finally got Yil's business paperwork up to date & piles of receipts sorted! (Waiting for the tax bill!)
2. Getting the upper hand on a bully who said we hadn't paid a bill and we had. Fought for months about it.
3. Andrew Lansley the Health Secretary getting booed and vote of no confidenceat the Royal College of Nursing conference. (Probably won't mean anything to most but it was a good feeling for me!)

Judith ,may I ask about the summer camp ,as I recieved a letter from school informing me that Joshcun had been selected to go on the "young ,gifted and talented "register in accordance with goverment guidelines.
This is a new thing to me as I am neither young ,gifted nor talented lol!
We were over the moon but Joshcun was mortified as his " friends would now consider him to be a geek"
